They despite and hate the government more and more, but they don't know how to set about changing it. The country is dying for some sort of lead, and so far all it is getting is a crowd of fresh professional leaders. Who never get anywhere. Who do not seem to be aiming anywhere. We are living in a world of jaded politics. Poverty increases, prices rise, unemployment spreads, mines, factories stagnate, and nothing is done. H.G. Wells
About This Quote

There is a wide spectrum of opinion on the state of public service and politics today. To some, it is a joke and they look for something new and better. To others, it is a mess and they turn to political blogs and podcasts, or write letters to the editor. Often, those who argue that politics is broken tend to be those who disagree with the status quo.

However, there are those who hold out hope for change as politicians continue to fail at their job as leaders with no clear sense of how to fix things. However, we often forget that we must not only look at our leaders but also ourselves. When we live in a democracy where people can vote for leaders who do not represent their interests and cannot change the system through the ballot box this creates a climate where we give up on our leaders and our country becomes disillusioned with politics as a whole.
